Update-Pet Food Recall -- Saturday March 24th, 2007 Menu Foods has not maintained their recall list on their website in a timely fashion. The suspected cause of the tainted wheat glutens in the food (imported from China) is rat poison. For a complete list of recalled brands and for additional information please visit: Pet Food Recall Urgent-Pet Food Recall -- Saturday March 17th, 2007 There is an extensive recall for pet food manufactured by a major pet food manufacturer. This recall covers many different brands. According to the FDA, there have already been a small number of pet deaths and serious illness which may be associated with pet foods manufactured by Menu Foods, specifically wet foods of the 'cuts & gravy' type. Menu Foods is a contract manufacturer who produces food under a variety of popular brand names. The "cuts & gravy" type of wet food is in a lot of brands manufacturered by Menu Foods, not just Science Diet, Iams & Eukanuba. So check the lists if you feed any wet varieties. The companies that didn't itemize their affected brands on the Menu Foods list are called out specifically here, the rest can be found on the Menu Foods link.
